Welcome to the 4* Flower Camping le Belvédère campsite in the Gorges de la Truyère - Pays de St Flour, in the midst of Europe’s biggest volcano!
In the Auvergne region, Cantal department.
Here’s a potted history: the Cantal mountain range is the oldest in the region, lies in the Auvergne Volcanoes Park and is the largest stratovolcano in Europe. It covers 2700km² with a 70km diameter. Its epic proportions are formed by a central cone and peripheral piedmont. The Cantal peaks are unlike any other with their volcanic nature and mountain character which give the entire mountain an Alpine feel.
Our campsite is nestled at an altitude of 700m on a terrace towering above Truyère Valley; the river’s source is at an altitude of 1450m in the Margeride mountain range.
…You’ll come for the experience, you’ll come back for the stunning scenery…
Stand at the top of our Belvedere, gaze at the lush natural surroundings and soak up the breath-taking scenery in the Gorges de la Truyère… There’s lots to do on land and in the water at the bottom of the Lanau dam and its water sports centre.
You’ll feel right at home in the camping rentals or pitches at the warm and friendly campsite.
Chaudes-Aigues is a spa village with the warmest water in Europe, 82°C, and the Caleden thermal baths attract a growing number of visitors to soothe rheumatism and arthritis.
Reception is open Monday-Friday for information and booking: 10am-6pm.
